Dear Parents and Carers,
We have been informed today that the school will receive an Interim OFSTED inspection tomorrow, Tuesday 29th September. This will be conducted by two of Her Majesty’s Inspectors (HMI), Mr Phil Garnham and Mr Gary Rawlings.
The purpose of this interim visits to reassure and inform parents, the government and the public about how the school is managing the return to full education for all pupils from the start of this academic year. The inspectors will not be evaluating what the school did during the Spring and Summer terms 2020 when we were not open to all pupils but will need to understand the broad context of the lockdown on the school.
The lead HMI will write a short letter after the interim visit, which will provide parents and carers with information about what leaders are doing to help pupils back into full-time education. This letter will not provide an evaluation of or any graded judgment. We will of course share this letter with parents when we receive it.
For your reference, the two HMIs will be in school from 10 am to approximately4pm and will only meet with school senior Leaders. The HMIs will not meet children, visit lessons or look at pupils work nor are parental views gathered for this type of inspection. Whilst on site, the HMIs will be strictly adhering to our Covid-19 secure protocols and procedures. I look forward to writing to you with the HMI report as and when we receive it.
