St Mary’s Summer Holiday Activity Challenge and Fundraiser
Dear all St Mary’s Children, Parents and Carers,
Hello from the St Mary’s Parent School Association (PSA) Committee!
It has been a difficult term to say the least and, amongst all the things that have been missed, we were sad not be able to hold the annual school Summer Fair (this in spite of all the hard work that it takes to organise!) The Summer Fair is not only our biggest fundraising event but is also a fantastic school community day and a great way to celebrate the end of the school year.
Money raised by the PSA (which of course includes all of you) goes directly to improving the school lives of all St Mary’s children, through new playground equipment, pantomime trips, class treat days, Y6 leaver celebrations, summer
days out and much more besides.
So, with all this in mind, we would like to propose a summer of activity and fundraising to all St Mary’s pupils and their families. We hope this will help pupils feel more connected to school and their friends as well as boosting funds to make
their much-anticipated return to school even better!
We’ll leave the finer details up to you but below are some ideas…
- Choose an individual challenge, commit to completing it every day for 30 days and ask your friends and family for sponsorship. It could be 25 pressups,
- running for 5 minutes or even making your bed!
- Take on a group challenge with some of your school friends or even your whole class. Connect with each other to stay updated on team progress. Can you run a marathon between you? Or climb a mountain via your stairs?
- Maybe art is your thing…could you paint pictures or make bracelets for all your friends and family?
Alternatively, if you do not have much time but would still like to make a straightforward donation to St Mary’s PSA, then this would also be most welcome. Perhaps you are still in a position to donate what you would have spent at the Summer Fair.
And of course, children and families can participate in the activity challenge just
for fun too. Please let us know what you get up to via Classlist or the school office.
We have set up a Go Fund Me page at the link below…
You can either share this link with friends and family or collect sponsorship which can then be donated here. There is a sponsorship form attached to this letter. Did you know that you can also help raise funds for the school when you shop online – see the Easyfundraising page on the school web and follow the instructions to set this up https://www.stmarysn8.co.uk/easy-fund-raising//
Thanks for reading and good luck!
