Our recent ‘When I Grow Up Day’ was very successful and gave inspiration to all the children about future jobs and careers that they may not have thought about in this very celebrity and online dominated world.

We had a fantastic response from parents and carers who came in to speak in class to Reception through to Y6. Careers such as nursing, architecture, acting, journalism, IT and technology, childcare, and psychology (amongst many others) were represented, as well as the army, the police and the air ambulance. Reception even had a visit from the fire engine from Hornsey Fire station!

The class based sessions were really interactive with the children asking many searching questions of the visitors.

Y6 were then able to access all the speakers from the morning at the ‘Careers Fair’ session held in the hall at Rectory Gardens. Everyone enjoyed the ‘speed dating’ concept of moving around the hall to allow time with every career area and visitor.

Overall all of the children were very engaged and inspired by the whole morning, especially Y6 who really enjoyed the careers fair.

Thank you to all the parents and carers who came in and shared their experiences with our children. We hope you enjoyed it as much as they did!
