We have been learning about earthquakes and its impact on human environments. The children made model buildings out of cardboard, toothpicks and marshmallows and placed them in a tray filled with jelly to investigate how the tectonic plates move and how we can make earthquake resistant structures. In English, we have enjoyed writing our own stories about ‘Escape from Pompeii’ which links to the earthquake and volcano topic. In maths we have continued to work on multiplication of 2 and 3 digit numbers by a 2 digit number. In science we have been learning how to classify animals as well as creating our own water cycles using stop motion videos.
