Year 6 News – January 18th 2018

In English, we have been writing newspaper reports based on a story that is set in World War II. We are learning to use the key features of this style of writing and have written dramatic eye-witness accounts. We have been improving our grammar skills and are learning all about coordinating and subordinating conjunctions. In maths, we are learning about fractions, decimals and percentages and how to convert from one to the other. We have also been developing our reasoning skills, reading mathematical statements and deciding whether they are ‘sometimes’, ‘always’ or ‘never’ true, giving examples to support our decisions. Half of Year 6 are currently in Pendarren having a
wonderful time, and the rest of us are getting incredibly excited as we wait for our holiday adventures to begin!
